What is your price range for a custom wedding gown?

Price starts at $2800 and up to $6500+ for more complex and full styles. These prices include all fabric and fittings and will range depending on the fabric/ style chosen.

What is your lead time for a custom made dress/outfit?

We like to work with 8-10 month lead times. If we have the capacity, we can accommodate a shorter lead time but no less than 3 months.

Do you design and create other special occasion wear?

Yes we do! We love to work with colour and cater to requests for reception wear, evening dresses, jumpsuits and more. If you have a request, please don’t hesitate to ask!

Can you replicate gowns?

While we appreciate and admire other designers work - it is not within our company integrity to replicate other designer gowns. We welcome inspiration photos to create something that is unique to you, combined with our expert design input at Joanna Delaney.

What kind of fabrics do you use?

We take pride in using 100% silk or silk/cotton blends to ensure the highest quality of construction and aesthetic of our gowns. This also ensures the breathability and lightness of the garment. Our fabrics are sourced from England, France, Italy and Asia.

Can you explain your creative process?

1. Initial consultation. Here we will discuss the design and get a feel for what would best suited to your personality and style. We will also look at fabric swatches/ existing samples and sketch out something for you.

2. Finalize design/ fabric and take measurements. This can sometimes be upon first consultation, however we understand you may need some time to think about your design. We will gladly give you swatches from your first consultation and you are welcome to take photos of your sketch.

3. Fitting process. Here we will really refine the style and make sure it is fitting impeccably for your special day. Fittings generally start 3-6 months prior to wedding.

How many fittings will I need?

There will be approximately four fittings to get your dress refined and fitting well - this can range depending on complexity of gown.

What will I need for my first fitting?

Please bring whatever undergarments you will be wearing the day of your wedding. Shoes are not necessary for your first fitting, however will eventually be needed for hemming. 

I have fitness/ weight loss goals for my wedding - how close to the wedding can we do a fitting?

We can start a dress as close as 3 months before the wedding if time permits - with final fitting the week of your wedding. 

Do you take smaller alterations such as bridesmaids and suits?

We focus on brides only during our Spring and Summer months. For smaller alterations we recommend SA Tailors, less than a block away on Pender St.

I don't live in Vancouver - can you still create something for me?

Most definitely - we can work remotely via Zoom or Face Time. You would need to provide your measurements from a trusted tailor. If your final destination isn't Vancouver we are happy to send out the dress to you. 

Can you explain your payment process? 

We require 50% non-refundable deposit upon purchase invoice - and remaining payment upon completion of dress(es). We take payment via credit card (Visa MC, Amex), e-transfer, cheque and cash.
